Meet LTC (R) Jamar L. Gailes

Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Jamar L. Gailes is a decorated military veteran, leadership consultant, keynote speaker, author, and the Founder and CEO of The Gailes Group, LLC — a leadership, team-building consulting, training, and resilience keynote firm dedicated to empowering individuals and organizations to overcome challenges and achieve excellence.
A native of Alexandria, Louisiana, Jamar’s journey has been defined by a lifelong commitment to service, leadership, and helping others reach their full potential. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science and English from Grambling State University, holds a Master of Business Administration with an emphasis in Public Administration from North Central University, and completed a Certificate in Negotiations from the Harvard Law School Program on Negotiation.
A Leader Forged Through Service
Jamar proudly served 28 years in the United States Armed Forces through the Louisiana National Guard, U.S. Army Reserves, and active-duty service. During his distinguished military career, he served three combat tours, including Operation Desert Storm, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation Iraqi Freedom, earning numerous awards and recognition, including the Bronze Star Medal.
Throughout his military career, Jamar held multiple leadership positions, including serving as the State Inspector General for the Louisiana National Guard and later as Chief of Assistance and Investigations for United States Forces–Iraq Inspector General’s Office, overseeing operations impacting more than 90,000 service members, civilian contractors, and local nationals.
The leadership principles developed throughout his military service continue to shape his work today — helping organizations build stronger teams, develop effective leaders, and navigate challenges with resilience and purpose.
From the Pentagon to Empowering People
Following his military career, Jamar continued his commitment to leadership and public service through positions with the U.S. Department of Defense, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
His experiences working at the highest levels of government, policy, and workforce leadership have given him a unique perspective on organizational culture, communication, accountability, and developing people.
Today, Jamar brings those lessons to corporations, universities, churches, and organizations through engaging keynote presentations, leadership training, and consulting services.
